Some inspiration for you.

I had to share this inpiring blog with you I’ve just discovered. It is by Kathryn who makes the most beautiful quilts under the label Maggie and Sparrow. I think she has a great eye.

I just adore this image- I absoloutely want an aqua room with a butter yellow armchair!

I’m so inspired, I want to drop all my work and go get pumpkin’s quilt top that I promised to finish him for his fourth birthday (he’s five now, by the way.)

My first skirt.

I am so so proud. I made my first garment today. I didn’t have to unpick anything and it looks like it’s supposed to. Made with love by me with all good things from my shop.

For little Liv on her 3rd birthday. Hope she likes the mermaids and pink polka dots!

Come down, say hi!

Got a stall at the Lady Forster Kinder fete on Sunday. 101 Liardet St Pt Melbourne, 10am-2pm. If you are local and fancy coffee and face painting (for you or your kids!) come down and say hi.

Am so very excited that I have finally put all the fabric on the site, now all the lovelies can be seen and bought by all and I can get crafty guilt free.

This is some of what I have to sell on the weekend – I had a most productive weekend last weekend making before grumpy husband gave me the evil eye about the lack of shop work that was being done (grrr!)

And tomorrow, I’ve promised myself that I will make a few hours to sit quietly and sew. Aaaah, feel relaxed already. (Got to blog a whole hour earlier tonight, yeay!)

Blog More.

I was going to drink lattes and blog. And read other participating blogs. And take photos to blog of all the hugely enjoyable crafty things I am making for the fete stall I am having on the weekend (more of that tomorrow).

But not one post so far has scraped in before 11pm and I haven’t had a single chance to read another blog entry! Also, no craft! Just craft things spread on my kitchen bench, whispering to me siren like as I gaze longingly toward them.

Only a pile of brand new goodies to be popped in the shop between me and it. The goodness of the goodies makes up for it, though. Scooters, planes and cars, matryoshka, birds and fruit. What could be sweeter?

Maybe I’ll get to sip and blog and surf tomorrow. I’d like to make cupcakes too.

New new things! Amy Butler Daisy Chain

Check out these new fab-u-licious fabrics, arrived today, not even all unpacked yet!

I am so excited to have a really wonderful selection of the new Amy Butler fabric range “Daisy Chain”.

Straight out of the box. Straight into my shop. For your purchase!

That’s not all (of course). We have new Heather Ross “Mendocino” fabric, more Amy Butler “Midwest Modern” and a smattering of Joel Dewberry.

They’ll be up on the site throughout the weekend, but I was so excited to see them, I had to share the news straight away.

“Snooty Birdies”

I’ve been having a bit of a play recently and came up with this cushion/ teddy new product. I think I’ll put it in the shop.

I think it went down well with our test group. Big one found it, took it to his room and told me he wanted it for him. The little one found it in his room and spontaneously cuddled it and made “Mmmmm” noises.

The ones I’m making for the shop don’t have button eyes so they are safe for little ones. I’ll be doing a few different styles, expressions and fabrics. I think they’re really cute little nursery additions!

These are now for sale at my fabric shop and they’re so “cheep cheep”…

Retail Therapy.

Visited Magnolia Square market today- I love the craft scene in Melbourne, everyone is really supportive and happy to give advice and suggestions.

Look who I found, camera shy, but still happy to oblige me with a picture of herself and her stall.

The lovely Allison of Lark and her beautiful stall at Magnolia Square- with some of the gorgeous products we sell at Belsize Square.

All the fabric‘s starting to roll in now too, to the point that my pumpkin just says “Oh look, more patchwork for the shop” (even more cute, because he was referring to a bag of lawn feed on the front porch at the time, but said so matter of factly!)

I digress… look at the goodies I’ve popped in the shop today.

Birthday Prep.

Little Pumpkin was really into his dad’s birthday preparation this year. We made wrapping paper to wrap the pressie he chose for him and his brother to give their dad (funnily enough, apparently all dad’s ever wanted is a collapsible Thomas bridge for the boy’s train set, but the sentiment was there- somewhere).

Then we made the cake and it was completely decorated by Pumpkin. I LOVE it, it’s totally Zandra Rhodes circa 1970- something. Very punk.

Today we cleansed ourselves of all of the wee baby goods the boys have outgrown at a second hand market to ready ourselves for the launch of the business. I was most teary to let go of the baby bjorn and found myself quite emotionally attached to it. Now it’s all sold however, I feel rather excited for my new baby, the shop! Hopefully this one will allow me to sleep through the night.

First Fabrics.

We received the first fabrics for the shop today, Farmer’s Market by Sandi Henderson for Michael Miller. It was very exciting- like Christmas morning! Here’s a sneaky peek.

As with most Christmas mornings, there are certain small people who would rather play with the box it came in…

I’m afraid it all ended in tears when he got stuck, oh dear.
