Renovation inspiration.
With a house sold and a house bought it’s time to start thinking about new interiors. The new house currently doesn’t have much of an interior, it’s mostly a shell of an outside with some interior walls and the occasional floorboard but there are plans and I have plans for those plans!
Firstly the kitchen which will be similar to my current one.
Except with storm lanterns or something a little more industrial hanging as pendants over the island bench.
A nook at one end of the island with shelves for my cookbooks, one of those big restaurant kitchen taps that are more hose than tap, perhaps some brick pattern white tiles for a splashback like the Paris metro (only without the urinal smell!)
And if I’m really lucky… a duck egg blue AGA. Or better yet the spotty Emma Bridgewater one. Bliss.
Also on the wish list- I’m loving this sewing cafe in Paris where you can take your projects and rent the machines by the hour. I have a little sunroomy nook with a big picture window and lots of light- and I have a little daydream about a space that will look like that cafe.
Another little daydream of a house that’s full of homemade quilts, made in my little sunroomy sewing shop nook.

Twilight Marketing.
In November I took part in the twilight craft market held at the little guy’s kindergarten. This is the only market I did this year and it’s the first one with my handmade things. It was great to be making!

Meet some of my little friends…

…the snoots…

…the birdies…

…and the rosettes.
Hmmm, it feels like the beginnings of something.

Some Craft-a-rama.
Got my bike today. I love it I love it I love it. Now I just need a Mike…
…We like our bike. It’s made for three. Our Mike sits up in back you see. We like our Mike and this is why, Mike does all the work when the hills get high!
Read “One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish” to Bubba J tonight and thought “Hey I need one of those!”

Here’s some of my latest crafty goodness:

So proud! As a self taught- anything I make that is functional and pretty like this dress (with most of the mistakes on the inside so you can’t see!) makes me all chest swelling with pride. It uses Bird and Berry Stripe and Grassy Plains. Both by Kokka and available in the shop.

This one’s a project from Sew Darn Cute by Jenny Ryan- it’s called Snappy Fabric Bracelets. I’ve had terrible trouble applying the snaps though. I got one of those Birch pack from Lincraft with the tool shaped a bit like a set of pliers. Anyway, no matter how careful I was opening and closing the bracelets, the snappers kept separating. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?
This is one of those rare craft books where I want to make everything in it. The come along once in a while and are just so exciting to own. The pages are full of possibilities. The other one that jumps to mind is Meet me at Mike’s.

Sewing machine cover whipped up one evening. Made it with Cookies by Aunty Cookie (a fabric I could just stare at for hours- these attitude laden bunny girls sit next to me now while I’m sewing. Some tell me I’m doing great, some snigger when I reach for the unpicker.) Hey, my mum was right when she said I’d never be alone again! Only I don’t think she was referring to dolly pictures on fabric. She was referring to the person I had just birthed.
I didn’t realise at the time that she meant it as a threat.
See my pincushion in the foreground? Got it free in Mixtape a while back. Courtesy of Dear Fii. I luv it.

Sewing Box
A super quick one with pics to follow.
Bought this great sewing box today. Was spew yellow and mission brown though- too hideous to photograph even for a ‘before’ pic. Spent the arvo painting it a beautiful scandinavian blue with white trim (shonky workmanship on my part, but great colours). Lined the drawers with pink polka dot paper.
The best part was it came with ll the original junk in it. So much great thread- I’m in heaven!
